🙏🏼 WHAT I DO FOR MY SELF CARE 🙏🏼

Around 10 days ago, at the Goddess Within Retreat held by Gina Genie, we spoke about self care a lot. So I wanted to share what I do for my self care.

.

Working for myself, especially in the beginning, I didn’t really stop. I struggled to slow down and rest. Over the last 6 years, I put these structures in place I’m going to share with you for my wellbeing and for to better serve everyone else.

.

.

🔻 Writing 3 Pages in the Morning (30 min every day)

- This is a brain dump of everything you have in your mind. It actually helped with expressing myself better and have more ideas. It’s an exercise from the book the Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.

.

🔻 Meditate (10-15 min every day)

- I do transcendental meditation where I repeat a mantra over and over again. I time it on Insight Timer.

.

🔻 Workout (3-4 workouts a week, 30 min each)

- This saved my life. It helped me be in my body more, feel stronger and have a clearer mind. I eat regularly now as well as the food is all in there. I do Shona Vertue’s 12 week workout and meal programme.

.

🔻 Spend time in nature (at least once a week 3 hours)

- I moved to live near Hampstead Heath specifically for this. There is a bench I go to sit with a book. I turn off my phone. I just sit on that bench for a good while watching the trees and the meadow and reading.

.

🔻 Dance (1-2 times a week 5rhythms)

- This helps me to come back to my body, feel my emotions, surrender, connect with my playfulness. There is a beautiful community whichever class I go to, so it’s great for connecting with people too.

.

🔻 Bath (2-3 times a week for 30 mins minimum)

- I do this especially after workshops with epsom salt, essential oils and peaceful music. I remember not giving myself this time and keep pushing and pushing until I breakdown. When I take a bath, that doesn’t happen.

.

🔻 Connect with friends (at least once a week)

- I’m grateful I have people in my life I can contact when I feel down and go, “Hey just want to let it out. I feel .... “ They just listen and say, “I hear you and I feel you etc.” without saving or fixing. They also celebrate my successes with me. There is a quote from the movie Into the Wild, “Happiness only real when shared.” No matter how much of a lone wolf you might be, you have a hardwired need for connection as a human.

.

🔻 Have a Life Coach (twice a month)

- I have a coach for 3 years now which is therapy/healing too. I can say this is a must now for me like brushing teeth. One of the best things I did for my life. I really believe if you want to create a life living your full potential, you need to have a coach/mentor. You can’t do it all alone.

.

🔻 Have Fun & Be Playful (whenever)

- This is things like making silly jokes, jumping on trampoline, going into ball pits, adventure parks, going to comedy improv (if you like this please let me know, let’s go together)

.

.

This was built over a period of 6 years. It didn’t happen overnight. I wasn’t born with a morning routine, working out regularly, meditating and dancing. I used to rebel against any structure which is a structure in itself that doesn’t serve, so I made one that served me.

.

These structures allow me to rest then get back into creating. If I don’t follow these, I go into overwhelm, I have a breakdown and it’s just not nice.

.

Of course I have fall backs. I have days where I need more sleep and I just do 10 min meditation in the morning. I have weeks where I forgot to take bath or go to walk in the forest. I notice the difference. When I don’t journal, I’m not grounded and centred. I start to feel agitated not enjoying my life. Then I look at this list and go, “Oh I totally haven’t gone to dancing in 3 weeks, let me get back to it next week.” Then I’m good 😍

.

This also changed in the past few years. It’s ok to be flexible about it. Especially as women, adapt it to where you are in your menstruation cycle. I don’t workout when I bleed for example and I notice journaling becomes easier around this time.

.

.

Give yourself permission to take good care of yourself. Self care is something you give to yourself regardless, it’s not something you earn after working hard. It’s always there 💛

.

Take one thing from this post that is suitable for your life currently or another idea that came to you while reading this post, do it for one week. Start small. Adjust it as you go and see how you feel 🤗

.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this or any questions you might have 🙏🏼

.

I love you 💛

The beautiful women who joined us in the Awakened Woman workshop last Saturday 😍

.

In the morning my dear friend Amanda who was assisting and I arrived at the venue to set it up. I knew the code to the outside door, but downstairs doors were locked. I’ve been using this venue for a year and this never happened before.
.
So we can’t access the room. My first response is trying few codes, do everything to get in while my mind scans other options like changing venue etc, full on solution mode. Then eventually I get angry, I panic, cry a little while Amanda is searching ways to get in, holding her ground.
.
I knew cancellation was not an option so we had to get in. At this point, I delayed the starting time 30 minutes giving us enough time.
.
I contact few of my friends who use the venue in case they knew. Then we started calling the numbers on the flyers outside the venue as they use the same space as well, saying, ‘Good morning, this is a bit random but we’re in this venue trying to get in. Do you know the code to get in?’ 😂
.
One of them does!
.
He told us the codes are in a box in the kitchen. We found the box and the codes are in there. We put in the codes and they work! The only problem is, now the door is jammed 🙈 I break the door handle by accident, Amanda puts it back together 😄
.
We spent another 15 minutes trying to get in.
.
What happened next was unbelievable. We still don’t know how it happened...
.
Amanda stands there, in her mind she tells herself, ‘NO MORE!’. Then enters the code, pushes the door handle and the door opens! We stare each other in shock.
.
We go in, shake it all off, shout, scream, punch pillows, move, then we’re good to go like nothing happened 😄
.
It was a beautiful, powerful, intense workshop with huge release.. I loved every second of it 😍❤️
.
Afterwards we crushed at Amanda’s unable to move or speak properly 😂
.
It was an incredible day from start to the finish. In the first part of the day, I was talking about no matter what the circumstances are, you can have what you love. You’re not bypassing what’s happening now but you’re making a new choice in where you want to go. I gave this as an example. I was initially super angry at the venue organiser for not giving me the codes. I could have chosen to hold onto my anger or I could find ways to get in. I chose the latter one.
.
No matter what obstacles come your way, even at times things seem impossible, just decide you’ll make a way to get to where you want to go to and the opportunities will present themselves ✨
.
Thank you gorgeous woman who joined us last week!
.
Loads of love to you ❤️

💃🏽 GODDESS CIRCLE’S MAGIC IS BACK 💃🏽

goddess circle magic.jpg

It’s going to be a year soon since the first women’s workshop I ever did, Goddess Circle.💗

.

The ones I was doing lately were beautiful, loving, filling up and but they didn’t have the magic they had way in the beginning. When you do something a lot, it can feel like a routine now, something which used to scare you is what you normally do now. So you might disconnect from it emotionally. I felt like that was happening.
.
2 days ago, I held another one and I got emotional before starting. I felt super grateful for doing this work, for my growth and for women who are showing up to feel, dance, imagine and release ✨
.
It feels like I’m back at that point of feeling pure joy and excitement for these workshops, just another level added with feeling more relaxed and more like myself.
.
I created this workshop because I wanted women to feel what letting go, surrender and being in your body feels like. When you feel it, you know what it feels like, you know what you’re looking for. If you don’t have that feeling you don’t know what you’re looking for. It becomes a reference point your body remembers. And it becomes easier to access it again because you know what it feels like now ❤️
.
Some words below from the feedback forms to share the experience women had which describes way better than I can:
.
.
“There was no fear/worry/anxiety. My mind stopped and I became just my body. I let my body talk to me and actually that’s the first time I felt love towards each part of my body. It took me to my deep, real self where only love and peace is talking.”
.
“It’s an opportunity to let go, release and reconnect with yourself in a warm, loving and safe environment of powerful women.”
.
“Illuminating. I experienced my’self’ in a way I hadn’t before.”
.
.
The next one’s on the 23rd April, Monday, 6:30-9pm in Covent Garden. 4 spaces left. Here’s the link to book:

They’re 6 women only, in an intimate and loving group which is one of the things that makes them special I feel like ✨
.
Any questions you have about them, please message me.
.
Loads of love to you 💛

Yesterday I went to Floatworks for the first time ever..

You basically float in water in dark for an hour or so, its sooo relaxing.. If you do physical training its great for your muscles etc as well.

.

yesterday i went to floatworks for the first time ever.jpg

I absolutely loved it 💙 I love baths anyway, but this is a whole new level.. You just let go, surrender and float.

.

If you're usually a person who does a lot for people but not much for you, go and buy a float session for yourself as a gift ❤️

.

And here's me without makeup 💁🏽

.

Have a wonderful weekend! 😍

.

✨ PATIENCE ✨

patience.jpg

Your ability to be patient will determine your success in everything.

.

This can be the hardest thing to be sometimes, being patient.. Yet it can be so powerful as well.
.
You might feel like after you've taken the step today, you want things to happen tomorrow. I'm usually like this tbh, after I've done the hard work, I go, 'Ok where's the result?' 😃 It doesn't work that way unfortunately.
.
Look at nature. Trees take their time to grow, flowers take their time to blossom. They're not in a rush, they're just going at their natural pace knowing they'll eventually get there.
.
When you plant a seed, that seed actually grows underneath the soil but because you can't see it, you might give up at that point just before the plant starts growing above the soil.
.
Look at a pregnant woman. She grows and carries her baby in her womb for 9 months. That 9 months is necessary for the baby to be healthy and fully ready for the world.
.
Same with your creations, you can't rush the process. You can grow quickly but you can't jump from having 2 clients to 30 clients in one week. You won't be able to manage as effortlessly because you didn't experience what having 10 or 20 clients feel like.
.
Patience is your friend who's telling you to wait and surrender to the process after you've done your part with your absolute best. I love this saying by Eckhart Tolle, "Sometimes surrender means giving up trying to understand and becoming comfortable with not knowing."
.
So how can you be more patient?
- Look at where you were 2 years ago, look at where you are now. Realise how that time and patience brought that transformation to your life.
- Meditate 10 mins a day. Just close your eyes and repeat any mantra in your head. Om Namah Shivaya is a good one, it builds your self confidence.
- Remind yourself that huge successes weren't achieved overnight. They took time and patience ✨
.
Sometimes there's nothing to do but being patient, being ok with waiting. And that's absolutely fine, stay with it.
.
Are you usually patient? If you had to learn to be patient, what made you more patient? Would love to hear 🙏🏼
.
Have a beautiful day! 💙💎

✨ HOW DO YOU MEDITATE? ✨

I first started meditating at 8 thanks to my parents ✨ Dropped it for a while then I was meditating regularly 2 years ago twice a day, half an hour each. It helped me so much during university times while studying architecture..

.

I wouldn't get thrown around by problems and was able to hold my centre in the stressful times through finding my inner calmness.. Also helped me with sleeping less and getting more stuff done as half an hour meditation replaces a whole night's rest 😃
.
There are so many meditation types out there, I tried few then the one I resonated the most was the primordial sound meditation. Its very similar to transcendental meditation, basically mantra meditation.
.
I was initiated a mantra sound equivalating to the time and place I was born. So each time you repeat that mantra while meditating, it'd match your vibration to your Soul's vibration. It helps you induce altered state of consciousness easily.
.
So how do you do mantra meditation?
.
You sit down, close your eyes, breathe and repeat a mantra in your mind's eye. That's pretty much all you do. If you feel like you're dropping away, bring the mantra to your awareness and keep repeating it.
.
Setting an intention before you start can be great, if you feel drawn to it. Start with 5 minutes and build up to 10 mins a day. Now I do 10 mins a day and I find that it works well with the rest of my morning routine which is doing breathwork, journaling and dancing in the garden.
.
So here are few mantras you can repeat depending on what you'd like to attract to your life:
- Om Namah Shivaya (building your self confidence, reminding you are made up of divine energy)
- Om Agasthi Shahina (for insomnia, if you can't sleep, repeat this in bed)
- Om Shrim Maha Lakshmiyei Swaha (allowing more abundance into your world)
- Wah Yantee (awakening your intuition)
- Ong Sohung (opening your heart)
.
Let me know your thoughts on this.
.
Do you have a meditation practice? Would love to hear about it in the comments 🙌🏼✨
.
Much love to you ✨

🌺 Coming Back into the Heart 🌺

I'm here laying down under a tree.. Dropping back into my body and I feel drawn to write and share with you.

Up until this point, I've been more masculine, driven and quite 'mindy'. It has been super useful, I get things done but it doesn't allow me to enjoy the journey or feel so much.

This morning, I realised I didn't allow myself to be playful because I assumed that life is serious and there are things to do. I needed to do these things before I can be playful..

I would create even more things to do and I'd never get to the point of being playful lol.

If I got a message from my intuition about being vulnerable and being me, I'd go 'ok gotta do this to be vulnerable now'. Or the other day I went to Hampstead Heath and I was like 'right, time to receive wisdom from trees' 😃  its quite funny actually.. I became all serious and disconnected from myself and others, because I'm in the head.

As soon as I let go of what I 'need' to do or be, I bring whatever I want to be or do into that moment..

It doesn't have to be complicated. It's quite simple actually. We're the ones making it complicated, then there is something to 'figure' out. There's something for the mind to work on.

The truth is there's nothing to work on. There are things to do, yes, but things can be done in a playful way, even the serious stuff. It's about doing this but having fun in the process. Bringing softness into it. Then there is joy and flow 💜

Sacred Earth - Bliss, awesome song to get out of your head and come back into your heart 😉💞✨

Feel free to message me btw to ask ways to get into the heart from the mind, I've accumulated a whole list of things by now 😂
