✨ HOARDING VS LETTING GO ✨

Holding onto the past blocks you from receiving the new experience.

.

Hoarding is about living in lack. It’s not trusting that better things are coming. It’s the attachment to the past rather than opening up to the now and the future.

.

You might have loads of clothes that you haven’t worn in a year. You might be holding onto objects from past lovers. Or you might not feel hopeful about the future.

.

There’s nothing wrong with keeping things as memories. I do that too. The problem is when you hold onto it while believing you had the best years and nothing better is coming.

.

Your Ego thinks the best thing that can happen right now is the re-creation of the best thing that ever happened. It’s not true. But by holding onto that idea, you create that.

.

It might also be avoiding being with the emptiness and the unknown. So you hoard to keep your space, yourself busy and your life filled while never having the time and space to look at what truly matters to you.

.

The other thing is about keeping objects from the passed loved ones. You might believe you stay connected to the them while you hold their belongings. That is not actually true connection. It’s an idea you’re connecting to rather than the essence of them. It’s the fear of letting them go. Fear of letting go of how they made you feel, the memories, etc, all of it.

.

True connection is the one you have in your heart whether you have their items or not. Your heart is where you’re connected to yourself, everyone and everything, even the passed loved ones.

.

The Ego doesn’t realise how the connection is always there, it’s not just up to the physicality. It’s not about SEEING it but FEELING it ✨

.

Sometimes its even stronger as at least one Ego gets out of the way 😄 You can close your eyes and imagine them infront of you, connect with their spirit and talk to them. Feel their power next to you when you need. Ask for their support.

.

So now moving to the physical stuff 🤓

.

Decluttering is not just great on a physical level, but it helps you have a clear mind as well. There’s a space opens up and when everything’s in place. You can see what’s missing and what’s needed, both mentally and physically.

.

I would say, I’m mostly tidy and organised. It gives me more space and freedom. It’s like a rock solid foundation I can flow from. I wasn’t always this way though. 7 years ago, my room and life was a mess. You couldn’t find a spot to walk on in my room, let’s just say. Then naturally, after seeing how much clearer my mind is when my space is tidy, I made the effort to keep it that way.

.

Marie Kondo is great at decluttering and organising. She talks about holding every item you own and asking, “Does it spark joy?” If it does, you keep it. If it doesn’t, you thank it and let it go. Then there are things like toilet paper which might not bring you joy, but we all gotta use it 😄

.

I’ve been decluttering my whole house for the last 2 weeks. I went through literally everything, bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom. It was crazy to see how much stuff I was holding onto saying, “I might use it one day.” That’s a no 😂

.

I like asking “Do I absolutely love it?” If not, it’s taking up space. Why would you have anything in your life if you don’t absolutely love it? Why would you not live your life in a way you absolutely love it?

.

It’s a revealing exercise seeing what you’re tolerating in your life that is actually not in alignment with who you are. Not just objects but the way you live too.

.

I had so many clothes that I love, but I’ve outgrown them energetically. I wasn’t that person anymore. In a way, if I kept on wearing them, I’m holding onto a version of myself from the past and not allowing myself to expand and grow into who I am today.

.

Those dreamcatchers behind me all have a special meaning to me. Every time I did a new workshop series, I bought a new one to celebrate. Then doing quite a lot of them, I let that idea go 😄

.

Some were from friends and my ex partner who is one of my best friends now anyway. However some of them had relationship energy in them. I put all of them down as it felt that was me up until few months ago.

.

It doesn’t mean my friends don’t love me anymore or I don’t give workshops. It just means that there is no meaning, I don’t resonate anymore and I’m complete.

.

👋🏼 So how do you LET GO? 👋🏼

.

Letting go is a choice. When you hold on, you’re choosing to hold onto the story and the past. It’s actually as simple as dropping a pen to the floor. The Ego complicates it. It creates assumptions of how something needs to happen first before you let go. It doesn’t. You can just let go. It’s simple but not always easy to practice.

.

There’s a letting go method called Sedona Method. It can be used for physical objects or thoughts. I use it a lot when I feel worried or fearful.

.

Here are the questions:

.

✨ Could you allow the feeling to be there?

✨ Could you let it go?

✨ Would you let it go?

✨ When?

.

Now, I’ll take you through it:

.

- Close your eyes.

- Notice how you’re feeling.

- Ask yourself, “Could I allow the feeling to be here?” This helps you to welcome the feeling without trying to get rid of it.

- Ask, “Could I let this feeling go?” Whatever your answer is, go to the next question.

- Ask, “Will I let this go?” If you answered, “No”, ask, “Would I rather have this feeling or would I rather be free?”

- Ask, “When?” The answer might be “Now” or “Not right now”, that’s ok. You can hold on for however long you want and are free to let go whenever you want.

- Notice if the same feeling is still there. Keep asking the 4 questions if they are still there.

.

Let go of the past and be open to now 🤗✨
